MIRAKULØS

Image
Hey hey hey!! WOW honestly the time absolutely FLIES here. So our branch is very tiny.  A good 30 people come to church every  Sunday . They are mostly older or elderly people.  We have exactly 1 family in our branch, but their oldest child is 6 years old so we don't actually have any youth programs at all.  If there are youth for some reason one of the  Sunday's , they join the adults in RS or Priesthood or  Sunday  School.  Since our branch really is so tiny, our church is only 2 hours.  1 hour for Sacrament Meeting, Nadvermøde, and 1 hour for either RS/Priesthood or  Sunday  School.  We switch off every week.   ANYWHØVEN (anywho in Danish lol jk), this transfer Søster Acosta and I decided to have a transfer of miracles.  And this first week was a week of miracles indeed.  Just going through our week with the attitude of looking for miracles really put an optimistic light on everything we did.  We...

Despacito Denmark, Despacito

Well HALLØJ!! Today is the start of my second transfer in Denmark!! I'm staying here in Hammerum with Søster Acosta which is very very very good.  I feel like I just barely got settled and having to move would have been way too insane for me.  I'm totes fine here.  Especially since we had a pretty fabulous week this past week! We met with a new investigator this week!  He is this cute man in maybe his late 50's and was sooo excited to have us over! He wants to learn about other religions and build his faith in Christ.  I could REALLY feel God's love for him in that lesson. He took a few seconds at the end of our lesson to tell us how much he appreciated that we came over and how much it meant to him.  It just makes my heart happy to meet such kind people.  To add another 2 people onto my ''Kindest People I've Probably Ever Met'' list, we did some service for a couple in our ward who also happen to be the most humble people I have ever met....

So, as a missionary I feel that you're not as prone to awkward situations.  Yeah, it's awkward anytime you go outside because you have a church badge on your chest but you just kind of own it and go on with your life.  However, when you do have awkward moments, they are excruciatingly painful.  After lunch a few days ago, we decided to go visit a former potential investigator that lived far far away on Judea's plains.  We tried calling him to see if he was home, but after no answer we decided to drop by anyway.  This man LITERALLY lived in the middle of nowhere. We drove for half an hour through forests and cow pastures.  I wondered out loud to Søster Acosta if this guy had a cow.  We finally drove up to a physical barn and I bean to legitimately think that this guy was actually a cow.  However, we soon learned that he is not a cow, nor does he have one.  He has hundreds.  I have never seen so many cattle in my whole life.  There ...

How much dairy could a Danish dude drink if a Danish dude did drink dairy?

Trick question because Danish dudes DEFINITELY drink dairy Hello hello hello!! I got to go to Copenhagen this week for a "30 Day in the Land" training which was a blast!  So fun and so crazy!! We learned so much and ate so much.  Somehow, quite miraculously, President and Søster O'Bryant managed to fit 26 people in their home for 2 nights.  That's the biggest group they have every had!! Our training basically consisted of lots of note taking and lots of snacks.  I'm pretty sure I gained like 5 lbs in those two days NO JOKE.  We had kebabs the first night, nougat bites (a very popular and very delicious cereal here.  Basically a better version of Krave) for the  9 o'clock  snack, breakfast burritos, McDonald's, Roast and Potatoes, more nougat bites, and gooey french toast. I still fit into all of my clothes so it's alright.  We had a ping pong tournament which I won AGAIN (!!) (well, one of them...) and just had a blast with the other mi...

Denmark's Tallest Mountain ACCOMPLISHED

HELLO HELLO HELLO!!! Denmark is STILL beautiful and STILL smells like cigarette smoke.  My typical day is wake up at  6:30 , ''exercise'' because my companion doesn't like to run so I've started to do situps and pushups every morning, eat a breakfast that is either that toast/cheese/jam combo or milk and granola, get ready and then STUDY! Since I'm a newbie I get an extra hour and a half of study time everyday.  We usually have planning, personal study, and then companionship study.  We're (hopefully) out the door by  10am  and either contacting on the gå gade or knocking on doors.  We come back around  noon  for a lunch of usually some sort of pitiful chicken rice burrito, and do our language study. Then we either have an appointment or continue contacting until 7 when we eat dinner (maybe burritos again) and at 8 do our ''training'' study.  That's generally a typical day.  We also do a lot of ''stop bys'' to pot...
