The Bold and The Beautiful

January 8, 2018 Hello Hello Hello! Danish Word of the Week: fyrværkeri - firework!  Danish Fun Fact: The ambulance cars a giant Mercedes vans.  The scripture that I feel sums up this week is Alma 38:12, '' Use boldness, but not overbearance; and also see that ye bridle all your passions, that ye may be filled with love; see that ye refrain from idleness. '' That was my goal of this week- to be bold.   On Tuesday we went down to the castle that we live next to (yeah, we live next to a castle) and talked to everyone we saw.  We met some pretty awesome people, a really cool girl in particular from China.  She is here on a trip with her family, but seemed pretty interested in what we had to say, so she took a card.  While we were contacting,  Søster  Critchfield figured out how to make her newness into quite the effective tool.  She would courageously walk up to people and say in broken Danish, ''Hi I'm not from Denmark c...

January 1, 2018 Our week only had 3.5 proselyting days due to the holidays and transfers! I said goodbye to my dearest Søster Day, held Søster Critchfield close by my side, and welcomed Søster Hall! It's going to be such a terrific tripanionship.  I'm pumped.  We started out our new transfer with an amazing appointment with one of our dear investigators.  She's in her mid-20's, a nurse, and a firm believer in Christ.  We talked to her about reading the scriptures.  God commands us to read the scriptures so that He can talk to us and help us.  When she wasn't understanding how advice given 400 yrs ago could still apply today, we read with her and applied with her.  Together, we read Ether 12:4, just one verse, and asked her what she thought she could take away.  The verse says, '' Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an an...

December 26, 2017 Danish word of the day: sjov. it means fun/funny. pronounced like the english ''show'' Danish fact of the week: Danish people love to sing This week was mega fun Monday was spent doing normal PDay activities, such as cleaning, buying groceries, emailing, and practicing for a musical number.  A very normal day that was still quite amusing.  Tuesday: Due to the fact that transfers are technically suposed to be on Christmas, we had what we call a ''mini transfer.'' We sent a batch of missionaries home and picked up 4 from the MTC today.  These new missionaries are going to wait in temporary areas until ''real'' transfers on the 27th.  One of them gets to stay with us! We picked her up today! We drove to the mission office in Copenhagen and waited there with other missionaries until President decided who would go where.  The entire process took about 2 houres.  But it was worth it because I love our baby.  Her name is Sø...

December 18, 2017 HELLO HELLO DEAREST DARLINGEST! Danish Word of the Day: Nissemænd.  Nissemænd are Christmas Elves, and they are everywhere.  I have a picture with them from Tivoli in my folder if you care to see what they look like.  They're awesome and I love them. Danish Fun Fact: Danes dance and sing around the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. Alright so this week was way fun! I am now officially 20 yrs old! You know, I don't feel quite that old.  Maybe I will in a few years.  We went to Tivoli to celebrate this joyous day of my birth and it was AWESOME.  Tivoli was the inspiration for Disneyland and is just as magical.  The Birkerød Elders and us started out on a big drop ride that we went on a few times and then slowly made our way around the big rides.  One of my favorite rides was a big swing one, like the one at Lagoon but BIGGER.  You sat down in swings and the ride took you up and up and turned you in a big circle, letting...
