April 23, 2018 Hello Hello Hello! How are you? Danish Word of the Week: Knus.  Hug. Danish Fun Fact: Sun draws Danes out from hiding. We had an absolutely wonderful week this week.  We had 2 sets of splits, with Hammerum and Horsens, and I had a blast.  I got to be with my old companion and bestie Søster Day! I love her so so so very much.  It was great to storm the castle with her again.  I was also with Sister Dorman! She's been in a car area so I decided to take it upon myself to teach her some helpful biking tips (because I'm old and wise in my biking skills).  After a few tries she successfully and gracefully mounted her bike.  I was mega proud and just as we were about to get on our way, I lost balance and waved my arms to find any sort of support, thus pushing her off her bike and onto the ground.  I then proceeded to continue to fall and I landed ontop of her.  She assured me that she was okay and didn't hate me.  We both...

Danish Word of the Week: Forbavset.  It means astonished.  Someone said that to me over the phone this week and I didn't know what it meant, so now you all get to learn it with me! Danish Fun Fact:  Denmark is the world's 2nd most peaceful country. Cool huh? This week was great! We had 2 sets of sisters up for splits! On Tuesday and Wednesday, I went with Sister Cole to explore the far reaches of Aalborg Vest.  We ended up in a super posh neighborhood that we knocked.  We found some really cool people and taught some great doorstep lessons.  I also found my favorite Danish house.  It's adorable.  Pictures included.  We also had a great lesson with one of our investigators.  We talked to him about the Plan of Salvation and why we all go through trials.  He promised that...

April 9, 2017 Heeeeelllloooooo Good Ol' Provo!!! How are you all doing? From the emails it sounds like you all are having a BLAST in the sun and in the spring! The first whiffs of spring also made their way across the many waters.  I'm READY for spring.  I am sick to death of the cold and absolutely 100% ready for the sun.  I think it's coming, I really do. (Lack of) Danish Word of the Week: There are no words for ''please'' or ''sorry.''  It's been a little exciting to try to eliminate those words from my vocabulary ;) Danish Fun Fact: At the very tippy top of Denmark in a city called Skagen, the Baltic and Atlantic Sea's meet. Remember this.  You might hear something about it soon. This week was absolutely one for the books.  We began by watching the last session of General Conference on Monday and I was pleasantly surprised to hear about the switch to Ministering! Danish Fun Fact: The Easter Eggs here, Påskeæg, are about the size of walnuts and are balls of marzipan coated in chocolate.  Absolutely delicious. In this edition of the Aalborg Adventures, we'll follow Sister Esplin as she battles Polly the Parrot, triumphs over persecution, travels to Italy and expresses the feelings of her soul through Gregorian Chants. Sister Esplin's monday was fun and relaxing, involving Bueno Bar flavored ice cream sent from the heavens and world renowned buttermilk pastries.  She and Sister Matheson strolled down the paths of Aalborg, enjoying their ice cream and leisurely perusing the quaint boutiques sprinkling the streets.  It was a good day. Tuesday brought an early rise for The Aalborg Sisters.  They rose from their slumber at the all too early hour of 5 am to catch the first train headed toward Aarhus, Queen Margrethe II's favo...

I love hearing what's up in P Town.   Danish Word of the Week: Rumvæsen.  It means alien. Danish Fun Fact: Easter in Denmark is celebrated by much alcohol.  More Easter facts to come. This week was a fabulous one! We got to go down to Horsens for splits on Tuesday and Wednesday which was an absolute BLAST.  I was with my dearest darlingest Søster Day and we had such a marvelous time. We walked in a dark and foggy cemetery, talked to everyone from 80 yr old Danes to 18 yr old Romanians, and ate a huge chocolate pastry.  Horsens is the cutest town and I was in utter shock when we walked up to the sisters' apartment complex CASTLE.  THEY LIVE IN A CASTLE. My jaw dropped all the way to China.  Needless to say, I felt like a Princess throughout the whole day. We also had a super fun eating appointment with som...
