September Submission: I Wore Tights
Hello hello!! This week was a fabulous one per the usual.
On Monday I stopped this young woman on the gå gade. I talked to hear and set up an appointment with her ALL BY MYSELF. Søster Acosta didn't help me at all. I found an investigator ALL ON MY OWN. Søster Acosta was very proud of me. I'm growing up so fast.
On Tuesday we had a lesson with one of our investigators! He is in his mid-20's and believes VERY firmly in science so he asks LOADS of questions that I don't understand because I don't know the words he uses. BUT it doesn't even matter because he agreed to be baptized!! After he gets an answer from Heavenly Father of course, but I know he will. I think he really wants to know if there is something out there, so I have full faith that he will ''blive døbt.''
On Wednesday we had a lesson with another one of our investigators! He just moved to Herning to study and is the sweetest human. We had Søster Forslund (from our senior couple) with us and taught him the Plan of Salvation. Søster Forslund shared a pure and powerful testimony of the Atonement that brought tears to all of our eyes. I think it really touched him. He listened to everything we told him with an open heart and was really willing to try to pray. It was raining elephants and cattle that day and he walked all the way to the church building. He could have easily just cancelled on us because of the weather, but he still came. Faith in humanity, restored.
Thursday brought ZONE CONFERENCE!! I love zone conference!! I am finally starting to get to know other missionaries so it was super fun to see people I know!! I saw a few of my MTC pals which was a party! The actual training was about the Life and Teachings of the Savior. Man it was POWERFUL. We watched some of the Bible videos that the Church has and it brought a special kind of spirit into the room. I love them. My favorite one is the Resurrection. They are all so incredible. It got me pumped about being a representative of Him and doing His work!! I suggest you all take a few moments this week to peruse those videos. They're pretty great.
Friday was so fantastic! Except for the fact that I'm quite sad to say that it was my first time wearing tights. It's only September. There is no way I'm going to make it through winter. I was actually kind of mad because it looked like Jack Frost's kingdom outside so that's why I put my tights on in the first place, but it wasn't even that cold! I could have definitely been fine without them. Ugh whatever Danish weather. Whatever. Hahah anyway, we had an appointment that night with a member couple. It was so great! They made us Flæskesteg (a popular Christmas dish) that tasted just as wonderful as it did the first couple of times I had it. It made my thighs fat but my stomach happy. I can't wait for Christmas.
Saturday brought fodbold and weekly planning. The end.
I got to see the Aarhus musikskole on Sunday and I just about died. It was so cute and Scandinavian and I think I'm moving to Denmark. Oh wait.... Hahah annnyyyyway we were up in Aarhus for Stake Conference! 2/3 of it was in English so that was a plus. It was really great and I met a lot of cool people! The Aarhus Stake covers LITERALLY all of Jylland which absolutely boggles my mind because I'm used to stakes covering maybe one neighborhood, not one country! Hahah I guess I'm really not in Utah anymore...
So that was my week! It was fun and eventful and FLEW by! I swear the time goes faster than a B2 bomber here. I've met some really amazing people and am honestly so happy. Much happier than I ever thought I could be halfway across the world from home, and it's because of the gifts of the gospel. I was reading a really good Liahona article yesterday that talked about seeking spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are so cool. God gives every single human to ever walk on the planet spiritual qualities to diversify us and help us throughout our lives. There are gifts that we are born with, and others that can be given to us if we just ask. So this week I invite you all to ponder your gifts. If you don't know what you have to some research and ask God. He will make them manifest to you! There are some really great conference talks on spiritual gifts and some really great scriptures too (D&C 46:27-33). The article I read (it was by George Q. Cannon if anyone wanted to know) said that we should seek out spiritual gifts because that is how we become perfect. I had never thought about it that way. Look for the qualities in yourself that you lack, and ask the Lord to fill in the gaps. He will.
Jeg elsker jer så meget og jeg håber at I kan få en fantastisk uge!
