February 19 Heyo heyo dearest family! Danish Phrase of the Week: ''Hvad for en fisk?'' Literally translates to ''what for a fish'' but means ''what did you say?'' Danish Fun Fact: Handball and Fodbold are the two most popular sports in Denmark.  Well this week was quite exciting.  On Monday we received a text from our investigator on baptismal date saying that he no longer wished to be baptized.  We later found out is was because he looked up Mormons on the internet and found some things about Joseph Smith and temples and got freaked. We tried to reason with him, but he's going to need a little time to think about his feelings and his life.  So little pause with him.  That kinda shot our Monday, but we got pastries so that made it slightly better.  We also had a fun family home evening with a cute lady in our ward.  We sang songs and ate rolls.   Tuesday brought ZONE CONFERENCE!! We had a fabulous training on the Book of M...

February 12 AHOY DEAREST FAMILY!! How are you all doing?? Danish Word of the Week: Speciallægepraksisplanlægningsstabiliseringsperiode. That means - Period of plan stabilising for a specialist doctor's practice Danish Fun Fact: Fastelavn was yesterday and is basically Denmark's version of Halloween.  There are some wonderfully tasting pastries sold around this time of year called Fastelavnsboller and let me tell you, they are heavenly.  Pictures to come. This week was quite incredible. After travelling for 5+ hours to get to Aalborg, we had to make the trek back to Copenhagen on Thursday, and then AGAIN on Friday for a mission leadership conference at President's house.  It was super fun! We played ping pong, ate some delicious food, and had some good trainings.  It was a swell time that almost was worth the 10+ hours of travelling we did for it.  Almost ;) In other news, I finally got to meet some of our investigators.  In particular a man named ...

February 6, 2018 halløj! It's so great to hear from you!  I love it so much!! Danish Word of the Week: Mojn. It baaaasiccally means Hello and it's actually German, but here in Jylland the German language is slowly integrating its way up and infesting itself into the Danish Language.  So people sometimes say Mojn. Danish Fun Fact: The 5 biggest cities in Denmark are Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg, Odense, and Esbjerg. First things first, oh yeah I'm in Jylland.  On saturday we got the call that my dearests Søstre Hall and Critchfield will be staying together, and I will be ripped away from them to make the longest sister transfer in the mission.  I'm now up in Aalborg at the tippy top of Denmark, with my dearest darlingest Søster Dietch (Diespleen BACK AT IT AGAIN) to fumble my way through being a sister training leader.  Prayers are encouraged and accepted. Our week consisted of numerous hours of my absolute most favorite activity in the world called find...

When in Doubt Flute it Out

January 29, 2018 Danish Word of the Week: Gifte.  It means ''married'' or ''posion.'' You can interpret that as you will Danish Fun Fact: The grass is always greener in Denmark.  Quite literally.  It's almost February and I have yet to see a brown field. This week was one filled of wonder and joy found in small places.  We worked so so so so sooo hard this week.  We really fined tuned our finding skills to be more creative, happier, and convincing.  Although the transfer only has one week left, we are going to go hard.  We are going to knock every single house in the city of Hillerød, talk to every person and every dog if we have to.  After transferly interviews with President on Tuesday, we drove up to a city called Helsinge to knock until our fingers bled.  God noticed our diligence and blessed us by letting us give a book to a cool young girl and a nice old guy named.  They both said that we were welcome to come back.  Late...

January 22, 2018 Danish Word of the Week: et frø = tree.  en frø = frog.  Be careful when explaining Alma 32.  There have definitely been a couple times where I thought I was talking about how to grow your faith into a tree, but I actually taught how to grow your faith into a frog. Danish Fun Fact: 5,731 million people live in Denmark. This week was a fun one! It began with, as all good weeks do, knocking on doors.  Tuesday morning we, to our despair, had an appointment cancelled on us.  We felt prompted to go back to a street that we had knocked last week and continue finding there.  We missionaries are not ones to say no to a prompting, so we went back.  We walked up to the first house and noticed a cat.  The cat then proceeded to follow us to every single house for the next 7 or 8 houses.  We thought it was kind of strange, but we are also not ones to get rid of a cat who obviously wants to be a missionary.  We got up to the 9th...

Who You Gonna Call?

January 15, 2018 Danish Phrase of the Week: Ingen ko på isen (no cows on the ice).  Basically means ''no worries.'' Danish Fun Fact: Kim Larsen.  Just go look him up.  Here are the happenings of this week: Mandag - ''Guys, I want a castle.''  We saw the most beautiful castle in the history of the world.  The one and only Frederiksborg.  It is the most famous castle in Denmark because of its intense beauty.  The moment we walked inside my breath utterly ceased.  We took an audio guided tour through all the rooms of the castle.  My favorite places were definitely the church (where a lot of Danish Royality has been married) and the ballroom.  I couldn't even comprehend how stunning the ballroom was.  I was simply splendid.  We later went to a young family in our ward's house for Family Home Evening.  They have 3 kids and the entire evening felt like being home.  It was a good time.  Tirsdag - We met with t...
