Who You Gonna Call?

January 15, 2018

Danish Phrase of the Week: Ingen ko på isen (no cows on the ice).  Basically means ''no worries.''

Danish Fun Fact: Kim Larsen.  Just go look him up.

Here are the happenings of this week:

Mandag - ''Guys, I want a castle.''  We saw the most beautiful castle in the history of the world.  The one and only Frederiksborg.  It is the most famous castle in Denmark because of its intense beauty.  The moment we walked inside my breath utterly ceased.  We took an audio guided tour through all the rooms of the castle.  My favorite places were definitely the church (where a lot of Danish Royality has been married) and the ballroom.  I couldn't even comprehend how stunning the ballroom was.  I was simply splendid.  We later went to a young family in our ward's house for Family Home Evening.  They have 3 kids and the entire evening felt like being home.  It was a good time.

Tirsdag - We met with the newly bapitzed (as of november) Lasse! He just got a calling and couldn't be happier.  He is a great one, that one.  Being a mormon is the coolest thing to him.  He inspires me every single day.  Goal of my life: be more like Lasse. We also went to go do some service for a lady in our ward whose daughter last minute-ly moved in with her.  We helped her clean, and she helped us learn Danish - specifically the difference between ''over,'' ''ord,'' and ''år'' which all sound basically the same to me.  One of them sounds like you are getting punched in the stomach, another like you are a 2 yr old, and the last is the ''uh'' you make when you don't want to do anything.  There's your Danish 101 of the week.

Onsdag - The Sister Training Leaders came to join us for splits! Søster Funk (my cute little MTC companion) came with me and Søster Hall and we took Hillerød by storm.  We found a new investigator who is currently a buddhist dane, and got let in to the home of a syrian refugee family.  It was quite the eventful day.  After the STL's left, we had an appointment with Therese.  We taught her the Word of Wisdom and invited her to pray to know that it is true. She is still the cutest human being ever.

Torsdag - I can now say that I have a pretty good knowledge concerning the Scientology religion. We knocked into one of their members and had a pretty lengthy conversation about it.  If you have any questions, you know who to call.

Fredag - You also know who to call if you need service! We took some stuff to the highly effecient Danish ''dump.'' Denmark has such an effective waste compensation that they quite literally have to ask other countries for trash so that they can keep the waste burners running.  Bah I think that is hilarious! And awesome! Later, we went knocking on this tiny little street for 2 hours! We met a cool guy from Thailand (whom we have an appointment with tomorrow), a funny little British man, and will stop by an lad from Ireland in the near future.  Happy things happening in Hillerød.

Lørdag - And if you have a missionary homecoming and desperately need help in the kitchen, you just give the sisters a ring.  A family in our ward welcomed home their missionary from the Vancouver Canada mission and needed some help with some open house food, so we headed over to save the day.  I am now a professional chopper.  I chopped meat until I could chop no more.  Just remember who you're gonna call when you need some nice slices.

Søndag - Church was great! We had a great showing of people due to the homecoming! A lot of less actives came and really enjoyed the meeting.  They all came to the open house afterward so I call it a success.

This week, I learned how grateful I am for prophets.  I am so grateful for those amazing people in the Book of Mormon and the thought, time, and effort they put into writing important things for our days.  I am also wonderfully happy for the prophets of these latter days as well.  Their words are also scripture and are especially applicable to TODAY.  I'd just encourage you to all take the time to appreciate the inspired men that God has put on the earth by reading their words.  God's plan is great and grand, and He knew what we today needed to hear 600 years ago.  It's quite incredible.

Jeg elsker jer og håber at I kan få en god uge! Hej!
