Aalborg Adventures Episode 4: Super Splits

February 26, 2018

Hello Hello!! I am so excited to get emails from you all every week!! Thanks for keeping me update on your lives and sending me pictures. I really appreciate it.

Danish Word of the Week: Fantastisk. 'Nuff said.

Danish Fun Fact:  It's the coldest week of the year here! And boy can I feel it.

I don't have a whole ton of time so this will be a little short, but this week was great!!

We had the wonderful Viborg sisters on splits! I was with my MTC buddy Sister Smith and we had a fabulous time.  We worked way hard and talked with so many amazing people.  There was one girl in particular that we contacted on a bench.  She was sitting by herself and looked deep in thought.  We asked her what she thought her purpose in life was and she, with tears brimming her eyes, said that she'd been trying to figure that out for some time.  We started talking to her about her loving Father in Heaven and how He wants to help us through all of our trials and the strugglings in our lives.  When we gave her the Book of Mormon, she jumped up and hugged us.  It was such a miracle to see the reality of our message and how it can apply to each one of us.  It was incredible.

We also had splits with the sisters in Horsens! Again, we had a marvelous time.  I went around the city with Sister Routh and we walked the walked and talked the talk.  I took her back to the same place that we found the girl on the bench to show her how beautiful it was, and we ran into a man that was walking just slightly slower.  We also asked him what his purpose was, and he, just like the girl earlier that week, didn't know.  He'd just broken up with his girlfriend and didn't know what was good.  We taught him that through Christ and His grace we can all feel love and hope.  He also took a Book of Mormon and when asked if he would be willing to meet said, ''Why not?'' Splits bring miracles.  They really do.

Those are just a few of the miracles we saw surrounding us this week.  In my personal study the past few days, I've taken President Nelson's advice in the last conference and began making a list of what the Book of Mormon is.  One of my favorite things I found lies in 2 Nephi 25:23, 26 ''For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do...  And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.'' That is the purpose of the Book of Mormon.  It's a testament and a witness of the Lord and Savior.  Nothing more, nothing less.  I found numerous times to testify to people that reading the words of the Book of Mormon will bring them closer to Christ than any other book. We are so blessed to live in a time of the world with the full breadth and power of the gospel.  That am I eternally grateful for.

Jeg elsker jer og jeg elsker min frelser.  Jeg er ganske taknemmelig for ham og jer.  Hav en fantastisk uge!!
