HELLO HELLO HELLO my dearest and darlingest family!
HELLO HELLO HELLO my dearest and darlingest family!
Danish word of the week: Solskin - sunshine!!
Danish Fun Fact: Apparently this past week has been the hottest week ever recorded in Denmark. I haven't seen rain for over a month!
First and foremost, I HAVE BEEN A MISSIONARY FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR!! WOOT WOOT WOOT!!! That means that I'm professional now, right? Ha. But I have actually been on a mission for 12 whole months. Time has absolutely FLOWN by. I still remember coming into the MTC as though it were yesterday. Hopefully I'm at least slightly a different person now than I was then. If someone asked me to go on another mission, I'd say ja tak!
But this was quite the week to hit my year mark! We've been meeting with Olav, our investigator in baptism-prep, every other day. He's been having some concerns so we went over with the Elders to give him a blessing. Honestly, I think that blessing was mostly for Sister Matheson and I to reassure us that he really will be baptized. He also just BARELY texted us and asked us to help him buy a suit that he can wear to church *insert crying face emoji* He is literally the sweetest man and I am so grateful that I could meet him and help him come closer to his Savior. Mark your calendars because he is coming for eternal life on Saturday!! Please keep him in your prayers!
We also had an awesome week because we had the Horsens AND Viborg sisters here for splits!! I love splits. I absolutely love with all of my heart the sisters in our zone and I love getting to know them better. We are quite the tight knit group and I feel like they are all my best friends. Sister Routh and I went outside with the expectation to teach and teach we did. We sat down with people in the park, on benches, taught them on their doorsteps, and consequently met some really cool people. We had a blast feeling like Christ. Sister Routh also got the chance to meet Sir Humphrey, the legend we met last week. We had a wonderful talk about the restoration and he said that he would love to come to church next week. Before the appointment we texted him to remind him about it and he said, ''Unfortunately I am traveling to Mars Today... my sky rocket launches at 17:30 but it was great knowing you sister... stay blessed...'' and then he immediately sends another text saying, ''Kidding I said I'll be there I'll be there.'' I was roaring with laughter. He is a way awesome and hilarious guy. Super believing and ready for the truth.
Sister Cole and I also had a fabulous time. Our morning began with us chasing down a potential investigator we found last time we were together on splits. We knocked on his door early Saturday morning, but he wasn't home. We biked to another neighborhood close by and started knocking when we saw our target biking past. We hopped back on our bikes and chased him down, knocking again on his door. No answer. So we decided to continue knocking and come back in half an hour. We show back up, hear voices inside the house, and he STILL doesn't answer. I guess that the third time is not the charm. It was fun feeling like a spy nevertheless, so I'm content. We also had a great lesson with our Chinese friend Lucy. Lucy has a daughter around 10 so we drew the plan of salvation with colored pencils. The daughter participated more than Lucy which I thought was hilarious but also great. Turns out that this girl believes in Christ woot woot!!
So I have been doing a very enlightening study project lately. I have been reading The Book of Mormon through with marking all of the promised blessings and what we need to do to get those blessings. I would highly recommend trying this, even if only for a few chapters. This has really helped me see what I need to do in order to receive eternal blessings. This verse from Alma 33 is a great example: ''And now, my brethren, I desire that ye shall plant this word in your hearts, and as it beginneth to swell even so nourish it by your faith. And behold, it will become a tree, springing up in you unto everlasting life. And then may God grant unto you that your burdens may be light, through the joy of his Son. And even all this can ye do if ye will. Amen.'' So the red is what we have to do, and the blue is the promised blessings. God is bound by what He says, so when we do what He asks, He shall bestow His blessings upon us.
Tak for alt. Jeg holder meget af jer! Ha' en god uge!
