Danish word of the week: Fornøjelse. It means pleasure. Sister Thorpe and I have been saying it all week trying to act sophisticated in our Danish hahah.
Danish Fun Fact: Denmark lost to Croatia in the world cup. The entire country is crying.
Well this was a wonderful week! Monday was Sister Thorpe's birthday so we went down to Copenhagen and experienced the scene down there. We ate cake, muffins, ham sandwiches, and lemon hyldeblomst danskvand. It was a fornøjelse. That night we went over to Rødovre for splits! I got to be with Sister Peterson from my good ol' stomping grounds of Timpview High. It was super fun to work with her and reminisce about our pre mission lives. We had a good time. Quite the fornøjelse.
We also had a good lesson with our friend Simon. We talked about living our faith from day to day and incorporating the plan of salvation into our daily lives. He's a cool guy. He, unfortunately, has said that the Mormon life is too restrictive for him, but we still see him around the city and we're buds with him.
We got to take another trip down to Copenhagen, and this time is was to take Sister Thorpe's fingerprints so that she can keep her visa and stay in Denmark. The process of going into the immigrantion office and getting out was only supposed to take 10 min, but ended up taking 2 hours. We entered a very crowded room of a million people from a million different countries. To make the best of our situation, we decided to talk to people and get to know them. They first guy we talked to grew up in Denmark but is originally from Albania. He was pretty cool. We also met a muslim lady there on behalf of her husband who is stuck in Lebanon. And then we made a cool Canadian lady who got married 2 weeks ago to a Dane. It was fun to meet all of these different people from different places. It really was a fornøjelse.
We also met with our dear friend Lene again this week. We talked to her about recognizing the promptings of the Holy Ghost. We also sang a hymn together and it was mega hyggeligt.
We had a cool experience teaching a family from Iran about the book of mormon. Unfortunately they are moving back in a few days, but it was super cool to see their willingness to learn more. That was a great experience.
KIM CAME TO CHURCH YAYAYAY!!!!!
Also, a cool guy (also from Iran) we contacted on the street told me that my name, Raya, means dream in Persian. So that was pretty cool.
It was an absolutely great week. I am just so grateful to be a missionary and to share the gospel the best I can with everyone I can. I really am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ (romans 1:16) and I'm not ashamed to be sharing it. I love it!
Tak for alt og ha' en god uge!! Hej hej!
