Dang is Denmark Delightful

August 6, 2018

Danish Missionary Fun Fact: You know that you have been in Denmark too long when you are asked to pray in english, and you translate the prayer in your head from Danish to English.  Who would have thought that praying in English would be one of the hardest things that I would experience on my mission?

This week was too incredible.  I don't know if I'll be able to express all of the things that happened, but I'll try my best so hang on tight.  We're going to go through my week again.

Monday - pday.  chill.  didn't do too much.

Tuesday - Oh boy today was a good one.  Between a lesson with Kim and lunch we had some time to talk to people on the street and we found our new friend Gary from the Philippines! He's very christian and said that he would like to meet.  Way cool.  Later we did some stop by of a few potential friends we had and while they weren't home or weren't interested, we found a new friend in the form of a girl named Milena.  She's from Poland and is interested! I love people that are interested.  We also met Scott, a way cool guy from Canada who has some pretty big ideas and was pretty interested in reading the Book of Mormon.  Good good good good.  We met with Koosh and Niloufar and they committed to live the Word of Wisdom! I really like meeting with them.  And then we met with Koo.  We made him a cd with Paul Cardall piano music and invited Koo to baptism! Watch out September 1st! Koo is kooming for you hahah.

Wednesday - It rained for the first time in 2 months.  It has been a drought here.  But it was great and it poured! But only for a few hours.  We got to visit my old stomping grounds of Hillerød to go to Søster Calame's last physical therapy appointment.  It was cool to be back.  The night ended with us dropping by a member to share a quick spiritual thought.  They gave us homemade koldskål which was heavenly.

Thursday - ZONE KONFERENCE!! It is always such a pleasure.  We enjoyed hearing from the Olsen's and learning some pretty useful and illuminating things.  I wish I could expound more, but there isn't time.

Friday - Was insane.  The highlight of the day was definitely taking Koo to an eating appointment with none other than the Mission President and his family! It was so fun, and sooooo good for Koo.  They just ate him up and he really really enjoyed it.  We taught him about Jesus Christ with the Olsen family and it went splendidly.  Koo had incredible questions such as, ''How do I get to know Christ better?'' I don't think I've ever been asked a better question.  Absolutely incredible.

Saturday - we took Koo to a baptism!! A lady on Amager got baptized and since she is from England, the entire service was in English.  Perfect for our South Korean friend.  It was beautiful, spiritual, and memorable.  We also met with Kim and fully committed him to come off coffee.  We took the rest of the coffee in his house and threw it away. WOOT WOOT COFFEE FREE.  To cap off the day, Søster Calame and I bought pizza from the pizza place around the corner from us.  Note to self: ALWAYS live within walking distance of a pizza place.

Sunday - was amazing.  Kim, Koosha and Niloufar came to church! The ward was warm and welcoming.  I bore my testimony and played the piano for sacrament meeting.  We had 2 american visitors who brought their 10 yr old Danish, non member cousin. So we went with him to primary and had a lovely time learning that we don't need a rameumptom to pray tp God.  Our little friend actively participated and everything! Boy was that cool to see.  He'll get baptized some day, I just know it.

This week was amazing and I am so happy and grateful for all of the miracles we have seen.  I've been studying Koo's question recently: how do we get to know Christ better? One of the best answers that I have come up with is: When we try to act like the Savior, we come to know of the Savior.

Tak tak tak og ha' en god uge!
