Well hello there family! We are 2/3 normal, 1/3 missionary. How cool?? I think it's pretty awesome at least! WE ARE THE ARMY OF GOD.
Danish Word of the Week: Nederdel - downer part - skirt
Danish Fun Fact: The quickest way to a Dane's heart is through the weather. Danish people LOVE to discuss the weather. They could spend hours talking about the weather. The weather has been rather lovely lately, by the way.
This week was good! We met with Kim several times. He really loves reading in the Book of Mormon and is doing good with the Word of Wisdom. Still smoking and drinking coffee, but it's coming. He just bought himself a bike, so we all biked to church together. It was super fun!
We had quite the miracle this week. We met a college student on DTU campus about a month ago. We talked to him for a while and gave him a Book of Mormon. He was going on vacation, so he couldn't meet until a month later (now). It gets pretty iffy if we have to wait more than a week for an appointment, let alone a month, because they begin to forget the good feelings that they felt when talking to us. The day of his appointment came, and we texted him the day before reminding him of it. We wake up that day to a text saying that he is still on vacation and can't meet, so we move on with our day. Later, we get another text from him saying that he is so sorry he didn't respond earlier. He feels so bad that he wants to make it up with cake. We are thoroughly confused because we thought he had responded, but happily answer that we would love to meet, no cake necessary. After thinking about it a little bit, we realize that the text we got that morning was from a different investigator. So we met with our college friend the next day and had a fabulous lesson. We taught him the Restoration and really focused on the importance of authority. We emphasized that our church has Jesus Christ's authority here, which means that we are vaild. It all comes directly from God. He was super open and committed to reading, praying, and making another appointment. That was another wonderful miracle of the week.
We've also had various appointments with some less actives and new converts. I love them all so much.
We had a wonderful district meeting about seeking the elect. Our district leader presented some very motivating imagery - He told us to close our eyes and imagine that we are in the pre mortal life. We are with our friends, having a good time, when we all get our ''calls'' saying when we are going down to earth and what our circumstances will be. Some people found out that they would be born in the gospel, and they were relieved. But some people didn't. Those who didn't went up to their friends and said, ''listen. I'm not going to have the gospel. I NEED YOU TO FIND ME. I know that, if anyone, YOU can help me.'' For some reason, that imagery really stuck in my head throughout the week. I went out trying to find my spiritual brothers and sisters that only I could find. It definitely put a new fire into my missionary work. We really tried our best to power through until we found the elect. It was a great week.
Tak for alt hvad I gør og jeg håber at I må have en god uge!
