''I Feel Warm Around My Heart''

Danish Word of the Week: Helligånden - the Holy Ghost
Danish Fun Fact: It rains in Denmark. I'd forgotten that.
Wow we had an absolutely wonderful week. We had a lot of good and fun things planned, so we were excited to begin another week. A few of those plans didn't work out because my bike broke, again. This time we gave up and just bought a new tube. No more problems since (knock on wood)! BUT my dysfunctional bike did not hold us back from the miracles of God. We met with our friend with the Waldo socks and boy is he ready for the gospel. He told us that he wants to know why members of our church are so happy and how he can be so happy. He has been investigating the church for a very long time, but the last time he met with missionaries was more than a year ago. He says that he wasn't mentally ready then, but he's ready now. Pray for Waldo.
Koo is also doing super well! He loves coming to church and always has a lot of questions. He doesn't feel ready quite yet to be baptized, but he thinks that October will be a good goal. So 13th of October here we come!!
A funny story of the week: On Saturday we were out contacting by a lake with no real success, so we decided to change things up. There were 2 youngish guys sitting at a picnic table drinking some wine and we walked up to them and asked if we could show them something really cool. At first they said no, but after talking with them for a bit they said, ''Okay, okay, bring it on.'' So we sat down next to them and handed them each a sticky note. We said that even though this was a boring little sticky note now, it contained the potential to become something beautiful. So we helped and guided them as they fumbled their way in making a paper crane. We then told them that we are all like that sticky note and we all have the potential to become like the paper crane. With God's help and guidance He can shape us into great and beautiful things. They thought that was pretty cool and each took a Book of Mormon. They ended up calling us later that day and want to meet, so the paper crane project was a success!!
The highlight of the week was Kim. On Friday, Kim was baptized and on Sunday confirmed a memeber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was so spiritual and beautiful. Of the experience Kim said, ''When I got out of the water, I felt warm around my heart.'' He is so happy and the light of the gosel makes him shine even brighter. He is such a wonderful disciple of Jesus Christ and so happy to be baptized.
Here's a little paragraph about Kim:
Kim is the happiest person. The missionaries knocked on his door about 3 months ago. As a lover of Christ and His teachings, he eagerly invited them to come back. Throughout his 46 years, Kim has really come to cherish the knowledge that he has of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He wants to follow Him in every way possible. When taught about the gospel of Jesus Christ, Kim turned to us and said, ‘’So does this mean that I have to get baptized again? I can do that!’’ Since then, Kim has been absolutely committed to his decision to be baptized. After cutting down on his coffee and cigarettes, Kim finally was able to stop completely. He said that he felt God’s help and love and now it isn’t hard for him to keep commandments. Kim said that his life has totally changed since meeting the missionaries just 3 months ago. He now has a group of fellow-believers to call family and a new commitment to follow Jesus Christ. Kim’s smiling face is a radiant and bright representation of who he is: a joyful disciple of Christ.
I absolutely love my time being a missionary. I love the wonderful country of Denmark, but I love its people even more. I love being able to go outside with the purpose of making a difference, no matter how grand or little it may be. I love what I do and I love why I do it.
Tak for alt og ha' den bedste uge nogensinde!
