It's The Little Things

Danish Word of the Week: Tilskyndelse = prompting

Swiss Fun Fact: There is a kind of soda called Rivella that can only be bought in Switzerland.

We had a wonderful week.  Going through this week felt normal and quite uneventful, but looking back I can see just how many wonderful things happened that I didn't notice before.  Heavenly Father does bless us, but sometimes we need to step back to really recognize his hand.

On monday we ate with this adorable couple.  The husband served his mission in Switzerland, and pulled out a bottle of Rivella that they got last time they visited.  Søster Calame almost cried.  She was so happy to have a little bit of home, and even happier when they let her take home a bottle.  It didn't last more than a few days :)

We didn't have the usual tuesday bike problems which was a blessing, but instead our bikes troubled us on friday and saturday.  Søster Calame and I have had 7 flat tires since being together.  That is a lot of flat tires.  I think that God is trying to teach us a lesson that we are obviously not picking up on.  Thanks to Aunt Louisa's nifty bike tool, we have almost all the tools we need to fix a flat.  The only thing that the super tool isn't is a big wrench.  I don't like keeping that tool in my bike because it's heavy.  It's really not thaaaat bad, but with my little frame and little side back, it's inconvenient.  But after 7 flat tires, I finally gave up, submitted my will to the Lord's, and put the big wrench in my side bag.  I'm ending these bike problems once and for all.

We had many a great other miracles happen this week.  One of the best ones came in the form of Sune.  So, flash back about a year ago.  Søster Matheson and Søster Peterson were walking by the side of a lake and met a man with 3 dogs.  He agreed to meet and investigated the church for several months.  He came to church, kept commitments, and was all set to get baptized.  Then, all of the sudden, he disappeared.  He didn't show up to church one week, and no one has heard from him since.  On Tuesday, Søster Calame and I felt very strongly that we should stop by him.  We bike over to where he lives, and buzzed his apartment.  He answers, and as I explain who we are he hangs up.  With really no other options, we leave a note in his mailbox and left.  However, on Wednesday we felt prompted to stop by him again.  So we did.  We buzzed Sune's neighbor so that we could get into the building.  He let us in and we walked up the many stairs to Sune's apartment.  We knocked on the door and heared a dog barking, but no other movement.  We knocked again, heared the dog again, and Sune opened the door.  Not one, but 3 dogs came running out.  We talked to Sune for a few minutes, introduced ourselves, and asked if we could come back, to which he agreed.  Today (monday) we met with him! Turns out that he dropped of the face of the earth because one of his dogs died and he had some family problems, so he just didn't have the energy to come to church.  However, things are going well in his life now and he wants to start meeting with us and coming to church again! This was a HUGE miracle.  Sune is one of the nicest people that I have ever met, and I'm so excited to keep meeting with him.

Those are just a few of the many miracles that we saw this week.  I love all that I have learned so far, and I am so grateful for the wonderful people and experiences that Heavenly Father places in my path.  I'm taking it all in.

Tak for alt og ha' en god uge!
