The Rain Keeps Rolling

Danish word of the week: vedvarende means persistent. that has nothing to do with the rest of my email, but I learned that word this week and I think it's cool.
Danish fun fact: health care is free. oral care is not.
We had a good week here! we had a super fun family home evening with 2 young, married couples in our ward last monday. it was fun to be around normal, strong, young members of the church and to hear about their own mission stories and experiences. It was mega hyggeligt.
Tuesday was a great day. As always, it was accompanied by some bike problems. However, Aunt Lousia's bike tool came just in time and we are now bike professionals. We took the back tire off, patched it (again), and put it back together all in 45 minutes. That is record timing for us here. We also had an unbelievable lesson with Koo. We talked about the importance of reading the Book of Mormon and Koo said, ''yes, yes, I know I need to read it every day.'' We also talked a little bit more about his baptismal date to which he said, ''You know, I keep pushing my baptism back and back. I feel that if I keep pushing it back, then I will never get baptized. Do you think that I could get baptized either this week or next week?'' My jaw dropped to the ground. So did Søster Calame's and the member that came with us. After a moment of astonished silence we said, ''yes yes, of course!'' After talking a little more and going through the baptismal questions with him we decided that he could be baptized on September 15th! After taking this week to think about it, Koo has actually decided to wait a little bit until he gains a better understanding. I do have faith that he will eventually get baptized.
Other than that, our week consisted of a lot of door knocking, a lot of contacting, and a lot of biking. One lady we knocked into was from Chile. She wasn't interested but said that she'd go gragb her son who, at his ripe age of 16 years, had never had a girlfriend. she went into the house and said to her son, ''Christoffer! There are 2 pretty girls at the doror that want to talk to YOU! No, I'm not kidding. Go! Look for yourself!'' He came and we just shared a card with him and told him to look up at video. And that was how two 20 year olds got set up with a 16 year old.
We had a good week and had the opportunity to meet some very amazing people. The Danish people are very polite and very conversational. They love to help each other and are a generous people. They have taken my heart forever <3
Tak for bønnerne og kærligheden. Jeg kan føle dem! Ha' en god uge!
mkh, Søster Esplin
