Knock Knock Knock, It's the JWs

Danish Word of the Week: Folkekirke: The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark or National Church, sometimes called Church of Denmark, is the established, state-supported church in Denmark.

Danish Fun Fact: You don't have to believe in what you preach to be a priest in the Folkekirke.

This week was crazy and I don't have a lot of time so buckle up!

We went on splits in Rødovre.  Søster Tanner and I find for a solid 6 hours.  It feels great.  We contacted a lady walking her dog.  Something she said sparked my memory and after she left I immediately pulled out my camera.  Grandma Pat had emailed em about one of her Danish friends and emailed me a list of all of his relatives in Denmark.  I had taken a picture of that list a few weeks ago and remembered that one of the relatives lives in Valby, which is exactly where we were.  There were 2 problems:  1, the street name didn't exist so we just went to the street that was closest in name and 2, the house  number was wrong.  However, we took a leap of faith and tried teh apartment building across teh street.  Turns out, he lives there! We caught him right as he was leaving and he gave us his number. What a miracle! After that, craziness happened.  We headed to the church because the Frederiksberg elders were having a baptism! They had been teaching a man on and off for many, many years.  They had an appointment with him that day to drop him and as they said the closing prayer he expressed his desire to get baptized, and get baptized THAT DAY.  After some call to President, the Zone Leaders, and some wrd members we all supported this man as he was both baptized and confirmed at 8pm that day.  What a miracle.

Another fun event of the week was a stake talent show.  Me and 2 elders performed ''savior, redeemer of my soul'' and it went well.  Fun times.

To close off the week we had a great appointment with a folkekirke priest and her son.  The son was found by some elders who were on blitz splitz in our area and was very interested in the book of mormon.  These elders failed to tell our dear friend that 2 GIRLS would be coming back (hahha it was actually 3 girls because we brought a member with us) so that was a little awkward, but ended up being totally fine.  We had a super cool appointment with this mom and her 19 yr old son.  They were very open and we had a great discussion.  The night ended in us giving them a book of mormon and the mom7priest beginning to read it right there.  They are super cool and I am so excited to go back!!

Funny story of the week.  We heard a knock on our door and opened  up to 2 Jehovas Witnesses! We all had a good laugh and talked about the differences and similarites between our faiths.  We gave them a Book of Mormon #whycan'twebefriends

Denne uge var helt fantastisk og jeg er utrolig taknemmelig fordi jeg har muligheden for at være missionær her i denmark.  Det er den bedste ting nogensinde.  Tak for den kærlighed og støtte I giver mig!! Ha' en god uge!
