MISSION CONFERENCE

Danish word of the Week: mål - goal

Danish Fun Fact: the high this week is 7 degrees.

What a week.  We had so much happen this week that I don't know if I will be able to adequately put to words the events and emotions that transpired in the past 7 days.

We had some pretty intense appointments.  One of them was with C.  C has a really really strong testimony.  We taught her the word of wisdom this week, and that was a little hard for her to accept.  She does have some issues with that, so she asked if she could think it over.  When we came back a few days later, she told us that if God doesn't accept her as she is, with all of her flaws, then she can't accept Him.  We told her that God accepts us exactly as we are, and that these commandments are here to help us be safe and become better.  She knows that God loves her, and she knows that everything is true.  We need a lot of prayers for her, so that she can find the desire and motivation to act on her faith.

We also met with T.  T is doing SO WELL.  Man she is the most fabulous lady I have ever met.  In our last appointment we loaned our own study room in the library and poured some cranberry saft (kind of like really concentrated juice) with some sparkling water and had a lovely time.  We're writing a book together.  T is so excited for her baptism.  She loves the Book of Mormon and loves her relationship with God.  She needs prayers too, to keep her going and to help her see the importance of church.

The highlight of the week came in the form of MISSION CONFERENCE!! Last transfer President promised us that if we reached our goal of getting 10 people baptized, we would have an all mission conference.  We did, and we had the conference.  It was the most wonderful experience.  We had to get flu shots which I was less than excited for (I lived, don't worry), but it was all worth it because Elder Massimo De Feo came and spoke to us.  I learned so, so much.  He talked a lot about having high charity and high expectations, and what happens when we have low charity and low expectations, high charity but low expectations, etc.  It really made me reflect over my relationships with those we are teaching, and also my relationships with other missionaries, my family, etc.  It is even a good parenting principle (hahah I'm not looking THAT far into my future yet)! Not only was the conference incredible, but it was so good to see all of my friends!! I had a great time talking to them and catching up and just loving them.  After the conference I was talking to some missionaries and then it hit me that I won't see a lot of these people again.  My throat caught and tears welled up in my eyes and I ran around frantically for the next few minutes to say goodbye to some of my favorite people in the whole world.  The reality of this being my last transfer finally hit me.  Thankfully, I still have some gas left in the tank and a few weeks left in my calendar, so I'm not done yet!

I gave a talk in church yesterday on what it means to take upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ.  I highly recommend Mosiah 5:7-9 and Alma 5:38 & 41 as good reads on the subject.

Tak for alt hvad I gør og har gjort for mig.  Jeg elsker jer rigtig rigtig meget.  Ha en vidunderlig uge!
